LED TV and LCD TV : A Comparative Study

After comparing our plasma TVs and LCD TVs, today we are the latest buzzword in the display industry - LED TVs and comparison with conventional LCD TVs. LED televisions are a better indicator for traditional LCDs are presented with a new backlight technology, the display of LCD TVs in producing a better contrast and black level performance combined with better improved energy. Traditional TVs use LCD CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps - These use the same technology that lights plain tube) in light of the monitor. The LCD panel before it subtracts the lights of white light into different colors on the screen to produce. This illumination is from cheaper white LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) LED televisions when making thinner and gain some other benefits replaced. Here is a comparison between them.

Black Level / Contrast

Article below for LCD TVs: The backlight is on continuously in the case of traditional TV. The LCD panel is to make all the lights block, pure black, which is not always 100% effective. Therefore, a voltage on LCD TVs always show white on the screen we see when they are observed at an angle to the display unit.
LED-TV: In the case of an edge-lit LCD TV backlight is at the edges, which makes them thin down without creating added value for better black levels and better contrast. However, the matrix of LED lights TV is producing better contrast and black level by some kind of smart lighting technologies. To display a dark scene, the light can be turned off after every dark spot to make it darker or almost 100% pure black. Therefore, the matrix is illuminated LED screens produce better black levels and contrast ratios.
Conclusion: Edge Lit LED TV victory over traditional TV with its sleek design and matrix LED TV victory over their traditional LCD screens better contrast and black level production capacity.

Refresh Rate Response /

Refresh rate and response time are features of the monitor and nothing to do with the backlight.
Conclusion: No one wins. This is a link.

Longevity

LCD TVs: Although the producers claim that the life of an LCD television, 100,000 hours but actually begins to show the degradation of the hue after 20,000 hours.

LED-TV: There is not much degradation in the capabilities of LED lighting over time. The life expectancy of the LEDs are not less than LCD panels.

Conclusion: LED-TV wins for best picture quality in the long run.

Weight

LCD TVs: LCD TVs with conventional CCFL can be as much weight as plasma TVs.
TV LED LED TVs weigh less than LCD TVs and they are much more robust because of their architecture.
Conclusion: LED-LCD-TVs victory here.

Color accuracy

LCD TV: Color reproduction depends solely on the ability of the LCD.
LCD TVs: normal white LED-backlit displays no special benefits, but the color backlit LCD TVs sorting, as in the Sony TV, the X-series, the color backlight depending on the need for change of scene. This can lead to more accurate colors.

Conclusion: White LED backlight TV has an advantage, but televisions sorting LED backlight color is definitely a winner.

Consumption

LCD TVs: The main power supply is used by groups CCFL light of the screen.
LCD TVs: The power LEDs are used by at least 40% less than the CCFL backlight.
Conclusion: LED televisions are the future because it uses less power and mercury in lamps, pleased environmentalists is used.

Price

LCD TVs: LCD TVs are available in many other TV LED as prepared so that they have a price advantage.
LCD TV: This TV is sometimes twice as expensive as conventional television sets.
Conclusion: LED TVs have a toll price for better picture quality.

Judgement

At the end of the day we can say that the TV, better picture quality than conventional television sets produce LED, but its price makes us think twice before buying one of them. However, LED-TV adopted by all manufacturers and soon we can expect that they are almost the same price as conventional LCD TVs, or just a little more expensive than to be.
